How every spec is checked

Every number in this guide comes from a checked source, and this page names those sources and the method behind the distances. It is signed collectively by the Moose Mountain field desk, the editors of this independent guide, with no personal byline.

Spec 01

Sources behind each spec

Facts about Bear Claw Casino & Hotel come from the casino's own pages at bearclawcasino.ca and from SIGA, which runs it. Hours, rooms, the RV lot rules and the restaurant times trace back there. Saskatchewan rules, such as the gambling age of 19 and the status of PlayNow.com, come from provincial government, SLGA and LGS pages. The park outline and the map points for each town come from OpenStreetMap.

Every fact was checked on October 14, 2026. Shows, menu prices and room rates are left out on purpose, because they change and a field kit should not date quickly. The guide itself is not the casino, not SIGA and not the casino's website, and it takes no bets.

Spec 02

Straight lines on the map

Every distance in this guide is a straight line between two sets of map coordinates from OpenStreetMap. Town distances run from the casino or from the park edge in the same way. For Moose Mountain Provincial Park, the line runs to the nearest point of its mapped boundary, not to its centre. From the casino, that nearest edge is 3.2 km to the west. The casino itself stands outside the park boundary.

Roads bend and are longer than these lines. For that reason the guide gives no driving times at all. All times in the guide are Saskatchewan time. The province keeps Central Standard Time all year, and the clocks do not change.

FAQ

Questions from the field

Do the images show the real casino?

No, they are generated illustrations of trip gear, a hotel room, a camp lot and parkland. They show no people, no logos and no real building. They are not photographs of the casino or the park.

What point is the park distance measured to?

Each park distance runs in a straight line to the nearest edge of Moose Mountain Provincial Park as mapped in OpenStreetMap. From the casino, that edge is 3.2 km to the west. Roads are longer, and the guide gives no driving times.

When did the field desk verify these facts?

The Moose Mountain field desk checked these facts on October 14, 2026. Holiday hours are not published; the casino line, 306-577-4577, answers that question.
